I traveled to Lovelady and watched the Lions play Riesel. Lovelady has good size and good speed. They played a 5-3-3 defense and hit hard and did a good job against the Riesel option. On offense their QB throws very well. The receiver did not seem to be very fast. The running game was a little up and down. Number 28 broke a couple of long runs, but did not seem to go all out every run.
I was next to three scouts that seem less impressed than I was.
On my drive back I reflected on the Lovelady team and decided they are the type of team you can easily under estimate and go home earlier than you expected.
