Turn-overs killed Mart and Kirbyville against Canadian and Muleshoe. If you haven't determined this by now, I'm a Region III guy. I have been for 50 years of watching, playing, coaching and watching again. Overall Region III has produced some of the best small school running games and running backs in the USA. In the past the far West Texas and Panhandle teams could not match the size and/or speed of the teams east of the I35 to Victoria line. Now the spread offense is the thing. Some schools run the spread to take advantage of speed and athleticism. The boys out west use the spread to take advantage of quickness, accuracy and to read defenses on the fly. I blame one person for this shift in power. The “Mad Pirate” in Lubbock is giving free clinics to all those coaches smart enough to listen. We need to travel to Lubbock and learn from Mike Leach.
