Stratford vs. Cayuga

Stratford’s game is physical on offense and defense. They wear people down much in the same manner as Liberty Hill. Cayuga is big and athletic and Shead is probably the best player in Class A; however, football is a team sport and Stratford wins putting the Panhandle on top in Texas A&AA football.

Class 5A Div. I

Allen vs. Fort Bend Hightower
I think Allen is a better team; however, Hightower has beaten North shore, Pearland and Chinco Ranch who were better on paper. Hightower in a close upset.

Class 5A Div. II
State Final
Wylie vs. Katy
Katy may have one DI player and he is marginal. Wylie has the best D-lineman in the state. I don’t know how but Katy wins.

Class 4A Div. I
State Final
Longview vs. Lake Travis
Lake Travis has kicked everyone they have played. Longview lost a close one to Allen and both kick Evangel (LA). Lake Travis is a high-high scoring close one.

Class 4A Div. II
State Final
Sulphur Springs vs. Dayton
Dayton has two of the best players in the state. Sulphur Springs has one of the best. Dayton dismissed 5 defensive starters prior to the first game or this would not be a tough decision. My heart says Dayton, but I must say it will be Sulphur Springs

Class 3A Div. II
State Final
Celina vs. Carthage
Carthage has been a sleeping giant in waiting. Coach Surratt has woken them. Dwight Smith may be the best running back in Texas. However, that takes us to the Orange pumpkins from Celina. They lost to Daingerfield, Whitehouse and were ripped by Prosper only to roll through the playoffs kicking everyone in sight. Including Liberty Hill. They are puzzling. I will take Carthage in a close one.

Class 2A Div. II
State Final
Cisco vs. Daingerfield
Cisco has been near the top all year. I don’t know about their overall team speed other that what little I have read. Diangerfield has one loss to one of the top AAA teams and a win over Celina. Their team speed (overall linemen and backs) has been the difference maker. If Daingerfield does not turn it over they will win by two scores.
