Three teams from Tapps Div II Houston Area teams moved on to the second round. Houston Christian has a big game against St. Joes on Saturday, and if they win it will be the first time the school has had ten wins since the 99-00 season, which is exactly why they brought Coach Johnston in.
Second Baptist and Concordia also meet up in Friday night action, and you can imagine Concordia doesnt like the way the game ended a few weeks ago, but it's possible that Second's win was no fluke. I guess that will be decided on the field Friday night.
What's really interesting is the way the system works now, South Texas sends two school to the Final Four, and North Texas sends two schools. It will be interesting to see if that even matters, or if like in years past the North Texas schools won't care who survives to come up and play. Liberty and Midland look to stand tall once again, but perhaps DC is worthy of breaking up the power couple.
Whatever happens, this should be an exciting finish to the DIV II season, finally.
