Army Strong 5A Team of Week 0.

EP Montwood Rams pulled off the unthinkable in their season opener: They shut down Odessa's high-powered offense and pulled off a 20-13 upset of the Bronchos.
It was a big win not only for Montwood but also for El Paso--rarely has an El Paso team beaten a Permian basin team.

Army Strong 5A Team of Week 2wo...

Lufkin bounced back from an early-season loss to top 4A’s No. 1 team, the Longview Lobos, 28-14 in Week 4.
Lufkin scored all 28 of its points in the first half, and the final 14 came with just minutes left to play in the second quarter.
After that point, the defense took over, and Longview was never able to claw within true striking distance.

Army Strong 5A Team of Week 5...
Two of the longest-tenured coaches in the San Antonio area went head to head this weekend as SA MacArthur's Van Fushack and Madison's Jim Streety clased in a key district matchup.
But MacArthur was the better team, and the Madison Mavericks, ranked No. 3 in the TexasFootball.com 5A top 25, sat stunned as the Brahmas completed an 83-yard touchdown pass with 52 seconds left to post the 34-30 upset victory.

Army Strong 5A Team of Week 5...
FB Willowridge didn’t have a whole lot in its favor heading into Week 5 play – at 0-3 overall, the Eagles were mired in a losing streak that dated all the way back to September of 2007. So needless to say, when the spreads picked Willowridge as a 32-point road underdog to FB Kempner this weekend, it was fair. But the Eagles, by far the smallest team in the district, topped Kempner, 18-3, holding the Cougars to below a 30 percent completion rate and forcing four punts.

The last time Galena Park North Shore had lost a district game, Bill Clinton was in the White House. But Port Arthur Memorial ended an era Friday night with its 7-6 win over the Mustangs, snapping the state’s longest district winning streak at 52. Though Memorial managed just one touchdown, which came in the first quarter, the defense forced seven fumbles, recovering three, and intercepted three passes to continually keep North Shore behind.

Army Strong AAAAA Team of Week 10.

Faced with a do-or-die game against perennial power Smithson Valley, San Antonio Roosevelt scored a go-ahead touchdown with 4:26 remaining, then picked off a Smithson Valley pass in the final two minutes to secure a 24-20 victory and clinch a playoff berth.
It was Roosevelt's third consecutive victory to close out the regular season, and it needed every one of them to reach the postseason.
Roosevelt's victory knocked Smithson Valley out of the playoffs for the first time since 1995. Roosevelt finished the regular season 7-3 overall, 5-3 in District 26-5A.

Army Strong AAAAA Team of Week 11

Pflugerville used an inspired defense to limit San Antonio Reagan to 155 total yards en route to a 10-3 upset victory in the first round of the playoffs.
Pflugerville scored an early touchdown on an 85-yard touchdown pass from Alex Dean to Drew Travis, and that proved to be enough against No. 19 Reagan because of Pflugerville’s outstanding defense.
Pflugerville improved to 7-4 and advances to face San Antonio Brandeis in the second round.
